The common cold is a viral infectious disease of which primarily affects the nose. Usually cold is caused by a number of 200 different types of virus. In medical terms it is called as upper respiratory tract infection. The common cold is caused by direct contact with infected person or through airborne droplets. Using of antibiotics are not necessary for the common cold.

Primarily the spread of cold virus can be prevented by taking physical measures such as hand washing, using face masks and taking the hygienic food in hygienic area, avoid smoking at the time severe cold, use paper towels for hand washing, throw tissues away after use, use disposable items if someone in your family is infected with cold.
Decreasing the cold naturally:
One of the most popular way of decreasing the cold in home is drinking the boiled water, applying the coconut oil to the head(hair), avoiding the head-bath, drinking more water to avoid dehydration, drinking water by mixing with one table spoon of honey and lemon juice.

Turmeric:
Turmeric is a antiseptic, antibacterial, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. Mix an little quantity of turmeric in milk and drink a day for a week, it shows a better results, use some more quantity of turmeric in food items while cooking.
Ginger:
ginger has antioxidant, antiseptic, antiviral, antifungal and antibacterial properties. It is a natural powerful pain killer. Ginger is a good source of vitamin A,C,D, B-complex, zinc, manganese, potassium, phosphorus, magnesium. To reduce the cold ginger as taken by mixing in food , mixing the paste of ginger with sugar.
Lemon:
Lemon has an antioxidant properties which helps in re-attaining the immune power. Mix the 2-3 table spoon of lemon juice in glass of hot water and have it for 3-4 times a day, it gives a better results.
Garlic:
It is referred as a super food due to its antibacterial, antiviral, antiseptic, stimulant, diaphoretic and diuretic properties. Garlic contain vitamins, nutrients such as proteins, potassium, zinc, calcium. Garlic will naturally have more antibiotic and it has some strong smell which will helps to decrease cold symptoms.
Onion:
Onion can be used as an antibiotic, keeping the onion splices on the chest can reduce an amount of heat from the body. Onions are good natural remedy to takeout heat from our body try this you can observe the change clearly within few minutes.
It helps in easy digestion and lowering the fever. It can be taken with hot or cold tea at any amount. Use regularly in your cup of milk or Tea it will naturally decrease fever caused by the cold.
Cloves:
